Waikiki aquarium fun!

A few weekends ago I joined my two favorite ladies, Danita and Evy, for some fun at the Waikiki aquarium. Now this aquarium is MUCH smaller than the one back in Monterey but it had charms all its own. The admission fee for military is only $6 and it comes with a free audio tour. I just love going places with Danita and Evy. They are so much fun to hang around and its always an adventure with little Miss Evy!

The fish in the exhibits were just amazing! Most of the fish on display here are found in and round the Hawaiian islands or are native to the Pacific. They had fish of all different shapes and colors! I was just shocked that a fish could be neon!

They also had a jelly fish display here. It was much smaller than the one I saw back in Monterey but it was still amazing!

It was so much fun watching Evy get all excited over the little critters on display!

What I liked most about this aquarium is that the last half of the aquarium's exhibits are outside! So after we had made our way through the inside exhibits it was time to see what awaited us outside! They had four more exhibits outside and my favorite one had to be the monk seal!

We were lucky enough to be there at the time of the monk seal demo, teaching everyone a little about the monk seal and differences between a seal and a sea lion. Now I have never posted a video before so let me know if it doesn't work.

In the video the trainer is showing how the seal is trained to follow the white target at the end of the pole. The seal is trained to touch his nose the the target and to keep it there, that way the trainer is able to look over the seal and make sure he is nice and healthy.
One of the last exhibits that we saw was an exhibit that really reminded me of Monterey. For all you who have been to the aquarium in Monterey, do you remember the fish exhibit on the ceiling where the fish swam in a circle? Will this is a miniature version of it...

Our very last exhibit was the giant clams. I found it so fascinating that a clam could grow to be so big!

It was an all around wonderful day! We topped off our afternoon with lunch at Ala Moana mall at Island Burger. I can't wait for the next exciting outing I share with these two amazing ladies. Thank you Danita and Evy for more wonderful memories!

Tweet tweet birdy birdy!

I have finally finished decorating my downstairs bathroom! When I posted about our house here in Hawaii I had yet to decide on how I wanted to decorate my downstairs half bath.

So a few weeks ago I decided it was time to add a little life to this dull bathroom.

I found my towels at Target with my good friend Danita and they become my starting point.

After I had gotten my towels, rug, and soap dispenser I realized my walls were a little too bare. So I started looking around for a large wall decal to cover the far wall. I fell in love with a tree branch/ bird wall decal from Etsy.com! I love all the unique and interesting things you can find on there. I got the decal in about two weeks of me ordering it and it was simple to put on.

First, I placed the branches on the wall where I wanted them.

Next I added birds to perch on the branches and some fly around!

And finally I added the leaves! My last addition to the bathroom will be my new Scentsy warmer I got last night! I can't wait till it gets here, it will be the finishing touch to our "new" bathroom.
